Impossible Project has taken over Polaroid Brand

In May. 2017, we heard the new of Impossible Project has taken over Polaroid Brand. More like it was bought by the largest share holder of Impossible Project, Wiacezlaw “Slava” Smolokowski. This guy is an energy industry tycoon and his son is the current CEO of Impossible Project. This half of Instant camera industry is owned by this one rich guy.

Now they have released the first Instant camera after their acquisition of Polaroid. It's called Polaroid One Step 2 camera. Which looks little bit similar to Impossible Project Type I instant photo camera. But One Step 2 is an analog camera just like it's predecessor. They have also launched a new type of Polaroid Film called Polaroid Originals 600 Film. an improved version of Instant Lab Film.

I think new owners have learned lessons previous owners never could grasped. First thing is price. This Polaroid camera comes with a price tag of less than $120. That's great because most of Polaroid instant digital cameras cost way too high. Now they came give some real competition to FujiFilm Instax camera line.

Also new Polaroid Originals 600 Film is cheaper then the last series of Impossible Project film. Old film cost your over 25 usd and these new instant film packs cost you less than 17 usd.  But still they haven't gone low as Fujifilm Instax Film.
People still complain about Polaroid Film price. But unless there is a big boom in Instant camera industry we can't expect prices to go down. After all this is a small market comparing with Digital cameras. Not everyone want to have photo prints. Today most people prefer to Store their photos in cameras, PC, portable drives or the latest thing which is Cloud storage. We should be glad we still have film to buy as Instant film camera fans.

New Polaroid One Step 2 is a nice item for anyone want to feel old Polaroid photography. Also it would be a nice Gift for anyone have an interest in Polaroid cameras. new film also have lot better quality then Old Polaroid 600 Film.

With Right kind of leadership and motivation, Finally Polaroid is on right track. We can hope to see more improvements in instant camera and also in Film packs unlike previous owners who just wanted to ride the brand name. This is good for Instax series too. Now they will have some serious competition so they will need to come up with new improvements for thier Fuji Instax series. So this is really a good move for Instant cameras and a good news for Instant camera fans.

We can expect more improved Instant photo prints for cheaper price. Cheaper prices will attract more buyers and fans. We can see how it's going for Lomography. They have started new trend out of dying camera breed. People have started buying those toy like Lomo cameras and enjoy analog photography.
