How to choose a Polaroid camera is something often asked by people who want to buy an instant photo camera. Even the question is some what wrong because many don't know Polaroid is just a brand not a camera type. So the real question is how to choose an instant camera ?

Often you might get an answer like oh don't buy Polaroid cameras because those are old and out dated and Polaroid has stopped making cameras years ago. This is not exactly true. Polaroid do make cameras and there are around 6 instant cameras launched by Polaroid ever since they shut down their analog camera and film production. Yes, Now they don't make analog instant cameras anymore. They only make instant digital cameras.

So why digital instant cameras ? There is always new trends out there. Polaroid instant film cameras were popular when everyone had to take their film reels to photo labs. It took one or two days when you receive printed copies of your negatives. So instant cameras were the best thing. You get to have photo prints right away. But then came digital age. Computers and digital cameras so you can insert photos to computer and check those right away. Also you can keep those stored there without spending money to develop. People no longer need an instant printing process for their cameras.

Because of this film cameras become loose popularity and digital cameras have become a must have. Polaroid had started loosing money because they tried to stick with their old analog instant cams. At end they were bankrupted and had to be sold to another company. So the new company realized they had do something about this. That's how digital instant cameras become Polaroids focus.

There are several great instant digital cameras such has Polaroid Snap, Polaroid Z340Polaroid Socialmatic Camera etc. If you want images to be saved into memory so you can move those out of camera then go for one of these models.

It's not a good idea buying of those old Polaroid analog instant film cameras such as Polaroid 600, Polaroid SX-70 or Polaroid Spectra cameras. Impossible Project Co. do make film for these 3 types but those film packs are bit expensive. There is Polaroid 300 camera which is just a re-branded Instax Mini 7s model so you can forget about that one too.

Fujifilm Instax series is the best analog instant photo cameras in market today. These cameras are cheaper than new Polaroid cams and also photo quality is really good too. If you want a cheap instant camera then go for a model like Fujifilm Instax 210 or Fujifilm Instax Mini 8. If you prefer to have an instant cam with advance features then check new models like Fujifilm Instax Mini 70, Fujifilm Instax 300 or Fujifilm Instax Mini 90.

Also if it's for a girl then check the Fujifilm Instax Mini Hello Kitty camera. It's cheap and also cute. Unique Hello Kitty design makes it stand out from all other Instax cam models.
